|
The assessment process provides a useful, in depth diagnostic report which identifies specific difficulties and learning style, clarifying and summarising strengths and difficulties.
The assessment report will give advice and recommendations for support and may also identify possible access arrangements for exams (extra time and/or reader). The report also helps students to see how this may affect their performance in the classroom. Recommendations are written for the teachers/parents and learners, enabling the teacher to adopt suitable and appropriate teaching methods and strategies, which will benefit learners and help them improve their skills.
Learners are empowered when they understand clearly the outcomes of the diagnostic assessment and can use the information to advise their teachers how to help them learn effectively. The assessment identifies legal implications and can be used to apply for Disabled Student’s Allowance (DSA) and to promote inclusion. The report can also be used to apply for support on courses, or in the workplace.
